"We drank the Ayahuasca concoction to the last, sacred drop and went back to our places to wait for the great event. The Shaman looked at us with a mystical glance and then it all began. The images were overwhelming, incredibly colorful, and very clear. The Shaman sang the sacred 'icaros'...verses that are like prayers or devotional requests".."Paint the Magical Visions." And, indeed, we truly saw them! Only then, did we really understand, that Shamans are truly blessed people.Guide to Esoteric Places

The Sacred Lagoons
In the north of Peru, between a chain of mountains, is scattered mystical lagoons which are said to have magical and curative powers. Here the Shaman, with his energy, voice, and power-giving objects, starts evaluating, curing, and attending to the sick,as well as reading their prospective future and giving advice. The participation in this rite is an absolutely personal and individual experience..unique and not transferable, yet, in order to achieve this altered state of consciousness, the Shaman's leadership and group interaction are fundamental.Traveller's Tales

Las Huaringas
The "Sacred Lagoons"..with their "spiritual energy" is the setting that provides the "environmental bonding" that allows the ritual between man and Shaman to take place.

To get to the lagoons, one must start from the small, remote village of Warwar, near the town of Huancabamba. It can take from three to eight hours to get to the lagoons. The Shaman will decide which lagoon one will finally arrive at according to the specific illness to be treated.Town Explorer
